Pete Sulik’s Sheridan Care Centers
was voted “Best Nursing Home” in the
Brazos Valley. Sulik is the President and
CEO of the company. He absorbed his
passion for this industry from his father,
Ed Sulik. For 35 years, the Sulik family
has provided long term healthcare and
rehabilitation to its residents.
“Before I formed Sulik Health Care Services, I was the administrator for 12 years of an exemplary center that began as a 60 bed long-term care facility. Under the Sulik family leadership, we grew into a 246 bed skilled nursing complex,” Sulik said.
In addition to the three Bryan/College Station facilities, the company expanded to Navasota in March of 2006. The Suliks plan on adding at least one more facility in the local area.
“Many of our residents stay with us a relatively short time while they recover and rehabilitate from an accident, a stroke or the like. These residents experience the warmth and comfort of our family atmosphere along with our full array of therapies and nursing care required to get them back to independent living as quickly as possible,” Sulik said. “Other residents require long-term care. These residents, along with the Sulik family and our professional staff, form the backbone of our Sulik/Sheridan family. This is their home, but with the additional security of professional nursing and therapeutic care. Each resident furnishes their rooms as they wish and our warm, homelike common areas truly provide for a family atmosphere, right down to the presence of ‘family’ pets.”
“While we at Sulik Health Care
Systems are proud of our past, we realize
that a company is only a good as
the service it provides to its residents,
its community and its employees—
today. This is why we continue to work
tirelessly as innovative, caring leaders
dedicated to changing the image of
nursing homes one facility at a time,”
Sulik said.
Not only do the Sheridan Care Centers focus on their patients’ physical and emotional needs, but also their spiritual needs.
“All Sheridan Care Centers offer a non-denominational, all-inclusive approach to spiritual care. Residents benefit from a wide range of religious services with complete freedom of religious worship,” Sulik said. “Each Sheridan Care Center offers a comprehensive spiritual plan that provides a range of opportunities for our residents to participate in structured and non-structured worship and faith-based counseling activities.”
“The people of the Brazos Valley have been very good to our family and we are blessed to live in a community that provides such a wonderful quality of life,” Sulik said. “Your recognition of our efforts is deeply satisfying.”
