As one of the corner stones in the area's medical community, Scott & White College Station is celebrating "20 years of excellence in the Brazos Valley."
From its location at 1600 University Drive East, the clinic is home to a multi-specialty group practice providing a full spectrum of care. As part of the Temple-based Scott & White Healthcare System, the College Station Clinic gives Brazos Valley residents access to the highest quality of comprehensive care, from general medicine to an array of specialties.
The clinic maintains the legacy of providing high-level diagnostic services, which Scott & White has built its reputation on for more than 100 years. These range from advanced pathology testing to state-of-the-art imaging equipment.
"From the very beginning of Scott & White there has been a commitment to bringing the best care to Texas," said Dr. William L. Rayburn, obstetrician-gynecologist and medical director of Scott & White College Station. "That heritage drives us, because we live here, and our families are part of this community - we take a lot of pride in that."
With more than 78 physicians on staff, along with support staff of nurses and technicians, the clinic is the largest in the Scott & White system. Primary care physicians offer care in family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, and obstetrics/gynecology. Specialties include ophthalmology, cardiology, gastroenterology and cosmetic surgery. More than 25 key specialties are available at the clinic.
Additional features of the College Station Clinic include physical therapy and an outpatient surgery center.
"Our mission statement is simple and clear," Dr. Rayburn said. "To provide personalized, comprehensive, high quality healthcare, enhanced by medical education and research. We live that mission statement every day."
Scott & White is a key partner in the Texas A&M University Health Science Center College of Medicine. Students now spend their third and fourth years of study at Scott & White, receiving instruction and guidance from some of the nation's top physicians. In the fall of 2007, four-year medical school campuses will be located both in College Station and at Scott & White, Temple.
Connected to one of the major academic medical centers in Texas, Scott & White College Station has access to cuttiing-edge medical research. The Cancer Research Institute at Scott & White in Temple was established to bring revolutionary cancer fighting therapeutics to the front lines of clinical care. For patients, the institute means ready access to second opinions and innovative treatments for some of the world's deadliest diseases.
Scott & White College Station is a leader in providing personalized medical care in a setting where individuals feel welcome. Dr. Rayburn said this is part of a "patient-centered" focus on care.
"Customer service is important in any industry, and healthcare is no exception," Dr. Rayburn said. "In fact, healthcare institutions need to be setting a benchmark for satisfied customers -- our patients."
