Built in 1982, Post Oak Mall
has served hundreds of thousands of
Brazos Valley residents. It was built
as a regional mall and currently
draws shoppers from a 13 county
area. Post Oak Mall has established
themselves as an integral part of the
community indicated by their selection
as “Best Mall” in the 2006 The
Eagle Readers’ Choice Awards.
“We feel wonderful to be given

the largest shopping center in the
community and appreciates the
votes from the people in the community,”
Marketing Director Joan
Ghani said.
Post Oak has expanded its store selection over the last few years, giving the people of the area a wider selection to choose from.
“Post Oak Mall has made great
strides in leasing over the past few
years, adding such great stores as
Aeropostale, Hollister, Fossil, Steve
and Barry’s, Chuck E. Cheese’s and
Earthbound Trading,” Ghani said.“We’re creating a broader selection
of stores for our shoppers to choose
from. The mall has also filled many
vacancies with new businesses, offering
120 stores to the community.”
The total trade area for Post
Oak Mall has increased by about
100,000 people since 1990. The rise
in population called for a remodeling
of Post Oak Mall in 1992.
“Post Oak is owned and managed by CBL & Associates out of Chattanooga, TN. CBL owns 79 malls nationwide. The local management team on the property consists of a General Manager, Marketing Director and Assistant Manager, as well as support staff and accounting staff. Still to this day, the upper Executives of the company, including the CEO, make site visits at least once a year to every one of their properties,” Ghani said.
Ghani and the management team of Post Oak Mall were thrilled to receive the award.
