The Ayers family opened the
dry cleaner store at its present location
in the 1970s. Brothers Chris
and Kevin Kennedy purchased
the business from them in 2003.
Chris moved from Katy to take
over the day to day operations.
He is married to a Bryan native,
the former Marlisa Emshoff. Chris
and Kevin grew up in the laundry
and dry cleaning business. Their
father started in the business in
1948 and to this day still lends
his advice.
“It is an honor to be recognized by a community I value as much as Bryan/College Station. It is also a vindication for the long hours and dedication from our employees, Chris said.
Quality and customer service has put Villa Maria Dry Cleaners above all other d ry cleaners in the Brazos Valley. “The quality of our product brings our customers in and the individual attention they receive keeps them coming back,” Chris said. “Our customer service is staffed with caring, fun-loving individuals who enjoy interacting with our customers. They strive to know our clientele and give them a personal experience each time they come in. Our service ideal is simple, quality comes before quantity and make sure you do the job right, don’t rush.”
The employees are a major part of the success of Villa Maria Dry Cleaners. “We don’t use a drill sergeant approach on our employees. We tend to utilize a flexible management style for whatever the situation may require. Our employees always welcome the customers with a smile and a greeting. We encourage genuineconversations with the customers,” Chris said.
With customers traveling from
surrounding towns and communities
to do business with Villa
Maria Dry Cleaners, Chris and
Kevin have both thought about
expanding their business to another
location, but only if they are
able to maintain their service without
losing quality control.
The Kennedy brothers are glad to receive the honor of having the readers vote for them. "We are truly appreciative that the readers of The Eagle recognized us for our hard work and dedication,” they both said. “It is a great honor.”
